Who is number one now?

Who is number one now? I think that is what Lil' Wayne is saying. After reports that he has sold over 1 million albums in its first week! The first to do so since 50 Cent's the Massacarre in 2005,which had 3 number top ten singles on it. including a number one hit (candy shop). I would have to say that this would make Lil' Wayne number one right now. Sorry Kanye. The much anticipated album did work and i am curious to see the reaction from all the lil wayne haters.

In the sports world Team USA has decided to go small. As you may know they are choosing to bring Kobe, Lebron, Melo, D-Wade, Kidd, D-Howard, Paul, Bosh, Williams, Redd, and Carlos Boozer to Beijing. This left space for either Tayshaun Prince or Tyson Chandler. Coach K and Co. went with versitality reather than size. I think This could hurt them very much. Tyson Chandler would be great off the bench for defense rebounding, shot blocking and could also give them 5 fouls to use. Not having him makes the frontline even smaller and now has no depth. They plan to use Melo at power forward and Dwight Howard at the starting center but can this actually work? i think it can but i would feel a lot more comfortable knowing that if theres some foul trouble that we have some depth in size off the bench. However I think Tayshaun Prince will help a lot and im not hating on him. His long arms will bring great defense to the team and will be able to put hands in the face of the shooters from around the world. He can also hit the open jumper which will help spread out the d and make room for lebron and dwade to get in the paint and for chris paul to control the game with his passing. I will keep you updated on Team USA athis summer but all I know is that they better be bringing home the gold.

They Did It!

The Celtics won. They completely dominated the Lakers en route to another championship. How good was it to see KG almost crying at the postgame interview.I loved seeing itand seeing the Boston fans going crazy. The Lakers looked terrible this series. Even in the games they won they were not too impressive. Although I think the Lakers will be back to compete next year with the edition of Andrew Bynum. As for the Celtics I think that they will be the team to beat next year. I am not sure if they will be back in the Finals. I dont want to make any predictions yet but they will be more of a complete team with a better developed Rondo and Perkins. Im just happy that the Celtics finally got the job done after a roller coaster post season.

I was thinking is it Kobe's fault that the Lkaers didn't win? Part of me wants to blame it on him but you really can't just blame it on one person...or can you? Let Me know what you think and who the blame is for the Lakers lack of effort and bad performance on the big stage.

Status Quo=Celtics??

As you may know the new season of Americas Best Dance Crew has started and im not really a fan of any of the new crews. They got nothing on the Jabbawockeez. However i relized that there has been a string of bad luck for the Boston Area. First I will Start off with the Patriots. Plain and Simple...they choked. They were undefeated and didn't win the Championship. So i know your wondering what this has to do with Americas best dance crew. This is the reason why the Lakers will come back to win the NBA championship. Although I really want to see KG Paul Pierce and Ray Allen get a ring.

Status Quo was a dance Crew who was voted by the Fans the epidose before the finals as the number one crew. ironically this Crew was from...Boston. The team that ended up winning the fans vote at the end and was crowned Americas Best Dance Crew was the JabbawockeeZ, Who happen to be from... Southern California.

Okay i know this really makes no sense but think of it for a second. If Boston really is going through a stretch of bad luck this leaves the door wide open for Kobe Bryant. However don't get it twisted. I want the Celtics to win and I think tonight they have a really good chance of going up 3-1 and stealing a win on the road even if Rondo isn't 100%. We will see how things play out and if the Lakers do become the fourth team in NBA history to win the Finals after being down 0-2, that would be ironic that the NBA relates to dancing...in a way.

NBA games being Rigged?; Celtics up 2-1

My computer hasn't been working lately so i have been unable to blog. Im in school now and thought I would post one real quick since it has been awhile.

With the latest news from TIm Donaghy he is claiming that there were two playoff series, one in 2002 and another in 2005 that were rigged. He said the refs were told to not to eject star players in fear of hurting ticket sales and he even said refs made up fouls on teams the NBA wanted to lose. If this were to be true i would be pissed to say the least. But first here is why I don't think it is true. Apparently there has been an investigation over the past year on these allegations and they are just now coming to light. If this were true I believe it would have hit mainstream right away not a year later. In 2002 the playoff supposedly rigged was the Lakers-Kings series. You know the series when Robert Horry Hits that three as time expires? If he misses that then the Lakers probably don't win that series. So I don't think the refs would have been able to do very much to help the Lakers win at Arco Arena, which at the time was the most Hostile and Loudest Arena in the NBA by far. THe Kings also had the best home record that year.

However here is why it could be true. In the documents Donaghy's lawyer filed, it claims an unspecified owner complained to league officials about fouls not being called after being down 0-2. The league then made it apparent that they were gonna call fouls on this player intentionally. The owner who complained... Mark Cuban. The player the fouls were called on...Yao Ming for moving picks. In the 2002 Lakers-Kings series the Kings were up 3-2 heading into game 6. in this game the Lakers shot 27 foul shots in the 4th quarter alone. In one quarter that is a ridiculously large amount. If thats not being fixed then I don't know what is.Hmmm. This is very suspicious to me. As a huge NBA fan i would be Highly Disappointed if this were true.

The Celtics are up 2-1 on the Lakers and I love it. Im really suprised how poor the Lakers have been playing even Kobe hasn't played particularly well. He had just one assist last game and if it wasn't for Sasha Vujacic this series would be over. Kobe needs to do more than just score although he did take over the last two minutes of game 3. However that won't be enough to win the finals.

Lakers vs. Celtics; No more flopping?

Gregory Shamus/Getty Images

Next season the NBA will fine players for flopping. Yes they will be fined money. I've heard different arguments about this in the past and I know a lot of people agree with it but how do you know is someone is flopping. Isn't that a hard thing to judge. I know sometimes is clearly obvious but then theres other times where it is really hard to tell. Im curious to see how this will play out next year. I will definitely be keeping an eye out.

Lakers vs. Celtics. I am pumped to see this old rivalry renewed. It's about time to see these two teams back on top. Im not going to make any predictions yet but i I think it will be a very exciting series and it's going to be intense. The celtics handeled businees very well last night. The 4th quarter they had was dominate. paul pierce was unstoppable and KG was doing work. That sucks for the pistons. 3 straight times being eliminated in the eastern Conference finals. I think there window is closing on them to win another championship. How much longer can Rip, Chanucey and Sheed keep playing at this high level. Anyways im happy for Paul Pierce and Kobe for leading their teams there after all the heat they took a year ago. It's nice to see hrad work paying off.

Conference Finals; NHL?

Garrett Ellwood/NBAE/Getty Images

Hey there. It's been a minute since I last blogged but there has been some interesting news out there. First I will start off with the Celtics. Hopefully they win tonight and go up 3-2 on the pistons and virtually take control of the series. I think the pressure is on them to win at home. The Pistons have already proved that they can beat the Celtics in the garden, I think it's on the Celtics to play with that since of urgency. I think they will take care of business but I think this series is a lot different now that Chauncey Billups is not 100%. It's a different Pistons team without him as an offensive threat. The Pistons will come out strong tonight but the Celtics will whether the storm and Kevin Garnett will not be Kevin Gar-nott like he was in game 4 and lead his boys one game closer to the Finals.

The Lakers did it! They beat the Spurs in San Antonio. I think the series is all but over. The lakers played a great game and made the Spurs look like a sub par team and better yet put them in a big time whole. For the record derek Fisher did not foul Brent Barry on that last play. I think if he would have went up with the shot after the intial contact then maybe it was a foul but not after he stopped and hesitated. Kobe Bryant has been playing at a tremendous level and it's fun to see him be a team player and make his teammates better. this is the Kobe i've been waiting to see.

On a lighter note Big Brown has a cracked hoof and was out for a couple days but he will be ready to go to complete the triple crown. When I first heard the news I was kind of worried but now im confident he will win next saturday.

Whats up with Sidney Crosby? 2 straight shutouts. I don't expect him to win his first Stanley Cup Finals appearance but as the best player in the league can't go down in two shutouts. Expect a big game in game 3 tonight.

Bulls win Lottery; O.J. Mayo

The Bulls won the NBA draft lottery. The poor Miami Heat still got the number 2 pick and are in a win-win situation a will get either Michael Beasley or Derrick Rose. I think the bulls should get Michael Beasley because they need the low-post presence in the paint. Joakim Noah is not the answer. Although Kirk Hinrich does have some trade value and they can't go wrong with drafting the Chicago native in Rose. The Miami Heat will also benefit from either one of these All-Americans. I must say the Bulls got lucky. They had a 1.7% chance of winning and some how beat the Heat who has a 25% chance of winning. Im interested to see what the Bulls will do with the top pick.

O.J. Mayo has been in the news none stop and im kind of sick of it. The evidence and allegations against him are huge and could tarnish both his high school and college legacies. However It will not effect his draft status whatsoever. I don't know whether or not to believe him. I want to think he didn't take money but there is a lot of evidence and facts against him. Honestly, who has a flat screen tv in their dorm room? That doesn't seem right. I will keep you posted on this story as information continues to leak. Let me know what you think the NCAA should do?

Spurs;Trade Rumors

Andrew D. Bernstein/NBAE/Getty Images

The Spurs did it. I am very upset. The Spurs are a great team and I will never pick against them again. Every time that I do it back fires. I was really hoping that the Hornets would stun the Spurs but it just didn't work out that way. The Spurs showed exactly why they are the defending champs and why you just can't count them out. All I can do is hope that Kobe Bryant and the Lakers finish off the job that the Hornets started.

There is a huge NBA trade rumor out there between the Nets and the Nuggets. The propsed trade is Marcus Williams, Richard Jefferson, Keith Van Horn, and a first round draft pick for Marcus Camby and Carmelo Anthony. That's Right! Carmelo Anthony! I would be really suprised if this trade were to go through. Rumor has it that its only in the preliminary stages but what a difference this would make in the Eastern Conference if it were to go through. All I have to say is poor Allen Iverson. He can't catch a break.

Kanye #1; Big Brown=Triple Crown; Game 7

Coglianese Photos

MTV has come out with a new list for the top MCs right now. Here is the list for 2008.

1. Kanye West
2. Jay-Z
3. Lil Wayne
4. Rick Ross
5. Snoop Dogg
6. 50 Cent
7. Lupe Fiasco
8. Young Jeezy
9. Andre 3000
10. T.I.

I called Kanye West at the top. Im kind of suprised to see Jay-Z at number two. I'm also not sold on Andre 3000 being in the top 10. Feel free to comment and let me know what you think of this top 10 and who would be in your respected top 10.

I don't know much about horse racing but I just thought I would say that Big Brown is sick and he will win the triple crown and become the 11th horse to do so.

Im happy to see the Celtics won game 7 against the Cavs. No one should hate on LeBron James anymore. 45 points in game 7 in Boston is impressive and to get as close as he did to a win is amazing. However I am happy to see that Celtics will move on and face the Pistons. This is a very inrtiguing matchup and everyone has been looking forward to it since the start of the season. I am going to say that the Celtics will win in 5 games. 6 at the most. I think the celtics will turn it around completely and will be too much for the Pistons to handle.
