Hey there. It's been a minute since I last blogged but there has been some interesting news out there. First I will start off with the Celtics. Hopefully they win tonight and go up 3-2 on the pistons and virtually take control of the series. I think the pressure is on them to win at home. The Pistons have already proved that they can beat the Celtics in the garden, I think it's on the Celtics to play with that since of urgency. I think they will take care of business but I think this series is a lot different now that Chauncey Billups is not 100%. It's a different Pistons team without him as an offensive threat. The Pistons will come out strong tonight but the Celtics will whether the storm and Kevin Garnett will not be Kevin Gar-nott like he was in game 4 and lead his boys one game closer to the Finals.
The Lakers did it! They beat the Spurs in San Antonio. I think the series is all but over. The lakers played a great game and made the Spurs look like a sub par team and better yet put them in a big time whole. For the record derek Fisher did not foul Brent Barry on that last play. I think if he would have went up with the shot after the intial contact then maybe it was a foul but not after he stopped and hesitated. Kobe Bryant has been playing at a tremendous level and it's fun to see him be a team player and make his teammates better. this is the Kobe i've been waiting to see.
On a lighter note Big Brown has a cracked hoof and was out for a couple days but he will be ready to go to complete the triple crown. When I first heard the news I was kind of worried but now im confident he will win next saturday.
Whats up with Sidney Crosby? 2 straight shutouts. I don't expect him to win his first Stanley Cup Finals appearance but as the best player in the league can't go down in two shutouts. Expect a big game in game 3 tonight.

I'm am also happy to see kobe finally being a team player. For the past couple of years he's been going through what Michal jordan did. The belief that since he's the best, he can do it all on his own. It took him a while, but finally understands that him scoring 50 points a game isn't necessarily a good thing. This is exactly what happened to MJ and if he keeps it up there's a good chance he will win a championship......just like Michal.
It also helps that my man can now pass it to Pau and Dfish instead of Kwame Brown and Smush Parker. Lets be honest here, there's absolutely no way the LA teams of the past 2 years would have had any success if Kobe didn't put up 30-40 every game. He trusts him teammates now because, well, they're actually talented and can help him out. If he keeps this going I could see this Laker team having a very solid 5-6 year run. Fish is the oldest player at 30...and we haven't even had Bynum for this run in the playoffs. Barkley said this might be the most talented team Kobe has been on and that could prove true. I could see Kobe winning more championships...already has 3...could end up with 6 or 7 if everything goes right. Go Lakers.
It does help that Kobe actually has talent. And if Kobe didn't average 35 a game the Lakers have lottery picks. In a way he is going through the same thing Jordan did but there was something special about Jordan. He had two three-peats. Thats crazy. Yeah Kobe has one but he wasn't the leader of those teams. Shaq was. Jordan was leader and the one making everyone better and Bill Cartwright an all star. Now Kobe is doing the same. Hes making Luke Walton look like a steal in the draft and is the only reason i have a little respect for Sasha Vujacic. Kobe still has some ways to go but he is on his way.
good point, he didn't have anyone to pass to, kind of like the situation that lebron is in now. But even when kobe was putting up 30-40 they didn't have success. Kobe is possibly one of the most amazing players basketball has ever seen.....but this all comes down to the fact the there is "no I in team" it's, "we not me" no matter how good kobe is, no matter how good MJ was, lebron too. NO TEAM WILL EVER HAVE SUCCESS WITHOUT IT BEING A TEAM EFFORT.
